I’m not a country blog. I’m a country person who figured out how to blog.
Pulling the ripper across a fall corn field, peering through the mud speckled back window to see an Iowa sunset.
Happy Veterans day to my grandpa. Served in WWII, and taught my Dad to be the the man he is today. The kind of man who will re-roof the church for free, because he doesn’t have enough money when the plate passes. The kind who treats your neighbours like family and will help bring the crops in or feed cattle when someone is sick or injured. The kind of man who says yes sir and no ma’am without ever thinking twice and holds the door for people behind them. My grandpa died almost 24 years ago, the day my mom and dad got married. My dad being the youngest of 9 children, still to this day says how lucky he was that his dad fell ill while he was growing up, because grandpa was there to raise him right. I may have never met him, but he has sure as Hell played a huge part in shaping me into the person I am today. I am thankful for all he, and his generation has done for me.
